The Academy Trust board is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Play worker to join our hardworking team of lunchtime supervisory staff.

Working as a member of the lunchtime team, you will ensure that our children have a meaningful lunchtime play every day. You will work as part of a team to create a safe and stimulating outdoor environment providing social, active and creative play experiences for all. The Play worker is a new role that may at times encompass the duties of a midday supervisor but will have an emphasis on actively supporting and initiating play amongst our children.

We use restorative approaches to help pupils understand the impact of their actions and how to put it right. We believe that by using this Restorative Approach we are giving pupils the skills to independently make better and more informed choices in the future. The successful applicant will be given training on this approach.

You will need to have the ability to work under direction and on your own initiative to provide general lunchtime supervisory support and be a good role model for our children.

When necessary, duties may also include setting up tables and chairs for lunch, cleaning up after wards and helping pupils with their meals.

The post is term time only, Monday to Friday, working from (provisionally) 12.00pm – 1.00pm.

The post is permanent subject to a 6 month probationary period.
